Advanced Course Instructors

Holly Forman-Patel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She utilized her skills as a therapist and program director working with children in school environments and in community mental health settings while simultaneously growing her private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. She recently relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she continues her private practice via telehealth, supporting clients in dual geographies. Holly specializes in working with children as young as two years old to teens, young adults, parents, and adults who have experienced trauma. Holly has published two workbooks on anger management for children and teens. In her work, Holly utilizes multiple modalities with a primary emphasis on EMDR Therapy. She was first trained in EMDR Therapy in 2013 and immediately moved forward to certification and then to Approved Consultant. She currently facilitates at EMDR Therapy Basic Trainings with the Humanitarian Assistance Programs: Trauma Recovery and with EMDR Professional Training. She has presented various advanced trainings in EMDR Therapy, and in 2021 she joined the EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) Board of Directors. Additionally, she provides the needed hours for EMDR certification and EMDR approved consulting for trained EMDR therapists.

Advanced Course Instructors

Adler-Tapia, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in Tempe, Arizona, where she works with children and families encountering trauma, attachment challenges, adoption, and child welfare issues. She also works with adults with trauma histories, as well as law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel. Forensically, Dr. Adler-Tapia serves as an expert witness in the Juvenile and Family Courts. Dr. Adler-Tapia is a national and international speaker, has presented at EMDRIA conferences and the EMDR Europe Conference, the ISST-D Conference on EMDR & Dissociation in children, the Infant Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona Conference on dissociation in infants and toddlers 0-3 years, and many other workshops on EMDR therapy, trauma, attachment, and dissociation. She is also an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant. With Carolyn Settle, MSW, Robbie co-authored the book and treatment manual, EMDR and the Art of Psychotherapy with Children and has written many workbooks with her daughter including My EMDR Workbook, I’m a KKIC (Kids Kicking Cancer), and I Live in a Foster Home. Her latest book, Child Psychotherapy: Integrating Developmental Theory into Clinical Practice, focuses on developmentally grounded treatment including EMDR Therapy.
