Course Description
Integrating Somatic Approaches into EMDR Therapy: For Simple, Complex, and Attachment Trauma is an advanced training designed for EMDR Therapists interested in learning somatic strategies to resolve clients’ traumas more effectively. The training includes lecture and demonstration for both theoretical knowledge and clinical application. Somatic therapies emphasize a “bottom up” approach to resolve trauma, utilizing mindfulness and non-verbal implicit memories--behavioral patterns and responses. This training focuses on integrating somatic strategies into each of the 8 phases of EMDR Therapy. It also provides more extensive strategies to work with complex trauma and attachment trauma. Participants will gain skills to enhance EMDR therapy through somatic processes.
