Kelly Hurley, LPC, is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified by EMDRIA. Kelly was originally trained in EMDR Therapy in 2009 and has been working with clients and clinicians ever since. Kelly has been serving others for the past 18 years as a counselor, coach, and supervisor. She worked in Community Mental Health for 14 years working with those with Borderline Personality Disorder (highly suicidal), Bipolar, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic, OCD and many other diagnoses. She became a Clinical Supervisor and a Clinical Site Director in 2008 and enjoys mentoring others on their journey toward Licensure. When clients encounter overwhelming experiences, they sometimes develop habits that are difficult to break even after the healing has occurred. Kelly has helped clients to stop smoking, reduce urges to use substances, and cease shoplifting. She also has specialty training to work with First Responders and Veterans. Kelly completed a year-long Residency Program for DBT as well as the two-week intensive specialty training with the Linehan Institute – Behavioral Tech LLC for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has assisted clients in reducing suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, and substance use. Whether it’s an EMDR Consultation Group or a DBT Consultation Group, Kelly finds it rewarding to help clinicians take a step back, look at the big picture and use Case Conceptualization to apply the modality with curiosity, creativity and high standards to meet client’s goals. She loves to inspire clinicians to tap into their courage to do things that seem scary at first. In 2003, Kelly graduated from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA with her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Arizona. Kelly’s undergraduate degree is in Business Administration/Operations Management with a Minor in Quantitative Research. (She loves statistics/math).

EMDR Basic Training reviews

“Cannot Recommend Highly Enough! I just completed my 3rd weekend of training and I cannot recommend this training highly enough. Dr. Rouanzoin, Dr. Gottlieb and our trainers were consistently prepared, excellent presenters, knowledgable and experienced, wise and gracious, open to all questions, responsive and helpful, and I left this final weekend feeling encouraged, empowered, and excited to be a small part of helping others heal. What a gift these trainers and EMDR therapy are to us all!”

“The training our clinical volunteers received was nothing short of exemplary. EMDR Professional Training has enabled our already stalwart program to be even more widespread and effective. On behalf of everyone here at VALEAP, thank you for your professionalism, undeniable expertise, and passion for helping others. Many of the heroic lives this program impacts and saves, will be attributable to the extension of your hearts, to ours. ”

“Best Training I've Ever Done! This has been a professional and personal training of a lifetime. I am a better person and therapist as a result- I highly recommend it!”

“This was such a wonderful and informative course, thank you so much to EMDR Professional Training!”

“It was exceptionally well designed and effective. I enjoyed replaying and replaying the videos to internalize the concepts.”

“This was an amazing training. It was thorough, fun, and I felt confident when I left that I am capable of doing this.”

“The course was absolutely amazing and has revolutionized my clinical practice!”

“This training was absolutely wonderful. I started weekend 1 with very minimal knowledge of EMDR and feeling very unsure of my ability to be successful with this. Ending weekend 3 I feel very confident that I will be able to utilize this type of therapy to help my clients in ways that I have not been able to before. Definitely would recommend this training to anyone who works with individuals with trauma!”

“ Exceptional. This training expanded not only my understanding of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy and gave me a strong foundation to treat trauma in individuals, it gave me a deep understanding of trauma itself. The training is valuable beyond words. I learned more than I could quantify - the depth, breadth, and width of not only knowledge but applied knowledge. My heartfelt thanks to this team!”

“My brain hurts but I am optimistic. This almost seems too good to be true!”

“Curt & Michelle are so knowledgeable, humble & caring! They create a fun, safe environment in which to learn, knowing you'll be supported when you make mistakes during the expected learning curve. It is apparent that they believe in quality clt and clinician CARE!”

“This course was awesome. I am looking forward to continuing on to certification. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get trained in EMDR.”
