EMDR Basic Training by EMDR Professional Training is a complete, three-part, EMDRIA-approved training program in the basic components of EMDR therapy, using lecture, videos, practicum experiences, and consultation to teach the history, theories, and protocols of EMDR--Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

Graduate students/trainees must have supervisor approval to take EMDR Basic Training. This course includes a document to share with your supervisor to complete the approval process.

    EMDR Basic Training is a live training program.

    This training uses HIPAA-compliant Zoom interface. Zoom links for training, practicum, and consultation groups are accessible on training days in this course.

Holly Forman-Patel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She utilized her skills as a therapist and program director working with children in school environments and in community mental health settings while simultaneously growing her private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. She recently relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she continues her private practice via telehealth, supporting clients in dual geographies. Holly specializes in working with children as young as two years old to teens, young adults, parents, and adults who have experienced trauma. Holly has published two workbooks on anger management for children and teens. In her work, Holly utilizes multiple modalities with a primary emphasis on EMDR Therapy. She was first trained in EMDR Therapy in 2013 and immediately moved forward to certification and then to Approved Consultant. She currently facilitates at EMDR Therapy Basic Trainings with the Humanitarian Assistance Programs: Trauma Recovery and with EMDR Professional Training. She has presented various advanced trainings in EMDR Therapy, and in 2021 she joined the EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) Board of Directors. Additionally, she provides the needed hours for EMDR certification and EMDR approved consulting for trained EMDR therapists.

Eligibility, Approvals, and CE Information

Eligibility

Licensed Mental Health professionals who have at least a Masters degree and are licensed by their state for the national board for independent clinical practice are eligible to attend, as are registered psychological assistants, interns, and associates.

Masters and Doctoral students may attend as long as they are in practicum or past and have written approval from their supervisor stating that they may do so. Directions on how to obtain supervisor approval is a shareable document available within this course once registration and payment has been completed.

EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) Approvals

EMDR Professional Training is an approved EMDRIA CE Provider (#18023), and this program is an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training program.

Per EMDRIA guidelines, participants must complete Virtual Basic Training within one year of beginning the course.

There is no known commercial support for this program.

Continuing Education Credit

EMDR Professional Training’s Basic Training program is a 57-hour program. The instructional and practicum portions of EMDR Professional Training’s Basic Training equal 47 hours and are approved for 47 CEs (Continuing Education Credits) through CE-Classes.com. The required 10 hours of consultation does not count toward CEs.

Participants are responsible to check with their individual state boards to verify CE requirements for their state.
