Premier Basic Training
Senior Trainers, Curtis C. Rouanzoin, PhD, and Michelle Gottlieb, PsyD, are the founders and co-presidents of EMDR Professional Training. Both seasoned educators and psychotherapists in private practice, they developed the Basic Training Program at EMDR Professional Training and co-teach Premier Basic Training.
Dr. Rouanzoin is a Licensed Psychologist (PSY 7809) and Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 8790) in Orange County, California. He has been in private practice for over 35 years and works with a variety of concerns, ranging from trauma and PTSD to peak performance. He also consults with local businesses and health care providers along with consulting with and training clinicians in EMDR therapy. Dr. Rouanzoin taught for 22 years as a Professor of Psychology at Hope International University in Fullerton, CA, where he developed the graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy and served as chair of the department of psychology. Dr. Rouanzoin is Certified in EMDR, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Approved Instructor in EMDR. He also served as a senior facilitator and specialty presenter for the EMDR Institute. Dr. Rouanzoin has trained mental health practitioners in EMDR both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Gottlieb is both a Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has been practicing for over 25 years, specializing in complex trauma and chronic pain and chronic illness. Dr. Gottlieb has worked as an adjunct faculty at California State University, Fullerton counseling department for over 10 years, training new clinicians to become some of the best psychotherapists of California. Dr. Gottlieb is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and has been a Facilitator with EMDR-HAP/Trauma Recovery.

Licensed Mental Health professionals who have at least a Masters degree and are licensed by their state for the national board for independent clinical practice are eligible to attend, as are registered psychological assistants, interns, and associates.
Masters and Doctoral students may attend as long as they are in practicum or past and have written approval from their supervisor stating that they may do so. Directions on how to obtain supervisor approval is a shareable document available within this course once registration and payment has been completed.
EMDR Professional Training is an approved EMDRIA CE Provider (#18023), and this program is an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training program.
Per EMDRIA guidelines, participants must complete EMDR Basic Training within one year of beginning the course.
EMDR Professional Training is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education ProviderTM, ACEP No. 7569.
EMDR Basic Training at EMDR Professional Training offers a total of 57 NBCC CE hours.
EMDR Professional Training’s Basic Training program is a 57-hour program. The instructional and practicum portions of EMDR Professional Training’s Basic Training equal 47 hours and are approved for 47 CEs (Continuing Education Credits) through CE-Classes.com. The required 10 hours of consultation does not count toward the following CEs.
Participants are responsible to check with their individual state boards to verify CE requirements for their state.
Licensed Professionals should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.
Certificates are awarded online after completion of the workshop. Participants print their own certificate after registering at CE-Classes.com, entering a keycode, and completing an evaluation form.
